Family entertainment varies from park to park, but most family-oriented holiday parks in the UK offer a broadly similar mix, so it helps to know what’s typical before you book if entertainment is a priority for your trip.

Sleeping arrangements depend on the size of caravan you book. A two-bedroom static caravan typically has a double or twin room plus a second twin or bunk room, sleeping four to six once you count a sofa bed in the lounge. Bathrooms usually have a shower over the bath or a separate shower cubicle, with a wash basin and toilet; some larger lets have an en-suite off the main bedroom.

Games rooms are a reliable option too. Pool tables, table tennis and a handful of arcade machines cover a good hour or two, especially for older children and teenagers who might have outgrown the kids’ club sessions but still want something to do that isn’t just sitting in the caravan.

At Tingdene, dog-friendly caravans and lodges are available across our parks on the eastern coast, and the park team can tell you exactly what’s fenced, what’s nearby for walks, and tingdeneholidayparks.com which units take dogs before you commit to a booking.

Facilities for very young children are worth confirming directly too: whether the shop stocks basics like nappies and baby food, whether the pool has a shallow paddling section or family swim times, and whether cots and highchairs are available to hire for the caravan rather than something you need to bring yourself.

Beyond the park itself, it’s worth having a backup plan nearby for a really persistent downpour. Many of our coastal parks sit within a short drive of a town with a cinema, a museum, or a decent indoor soft play centre, so keeping a couple of options in mind before the holiday starts means a wet day doesn’t derail the whole trip.
