I cannot believe this is really what the great majority of consultants want.
Surely this callous greed is not what has fuelled their careers, inspiring them to commit to long years of study and sheer hard work. Strike action must directly contradict their most profound principles.

As shadow health secretary during the early 1990s, I could not have conceived of such a crisis.
